About Our Children’s Ministry
As a worshipping community, sharing in Christ’s mission to make all things new, Redeemer’s Children’s Ministry strives to be a place that encourages children to serve and renew the community of Memphis and beyond through the knowledge and application of the gospel of Jesus. We work toward this goal by cultivating an understanding of the story of scripture, guiding children in prayer and worship, and teaching them to live gospel centered lives.
Children’s Ministry Sessions
Sweet Peas Class
Newborns-23 months old children are cared for in our Sweet Peas nursery. Two trained caregivers love on our little ones every Sunday morning for the duration of worship.
Little Lambs Class
Two and three year old children are cared for in our Little Lambs nursery. Trained Redeemer members lead these children in a time of play, singing, a Bible story, a monthly catechism question, and coloring activity for the duration of worship.
Children’s Church
Children age four through 2nd grade attend worship with their parents and are dismissed to Children’s Church prior to the sermon. Children are led by trained Redeemer members in singing, scripture memory work, and a Bible story. Children return to the sanctuary just before communion.
Communicant’s Class
Each spring, Redeemer offers a Communicant’s Class for elementary aged children who are interested in making a public profession of their faith and being received to the Lord’s table. Please see the Director of Children’s Ministry if you are interested in further information.
Christian Education
Christian Education classes are offered seasonally at Redeemer for preschool through fifth grade children. This curriculum based teaching time is held on Sunday mornings and during Wednesday night community groups. Teaching is led by Redeemer members.
Worshipping with Sister Churches
When we as a church family join hands in worship with a sister church, our children have the opportunity to join us in experiencing the unity of the church across denominational and racial lines.
Serving Our City/World
It is a joy to see our children standing alongside our adults in service to Memphis through various church-wide service projects!
